It didn't take us too long to realize that our two chickens are actually a little bit too large for the run attached to the chicken hut. Although they started laying eggs end of January, and have so far produced at least one if not two eggs per day, we feel that they would deserve more freedom to move around. This is why the building has been started, which is supposed to provide them with a large cage like structure, where they can freely roam in a much larger area. Happy chickens should give us more an better eggs. Seen from this point of view, the alteration comes not only for caring but also for selfish reasons. :-) Progress has been made, but there is more work to be done, and we hope to have works completed within the next two weeks.
