A bare patch of soil appeared right in front of the new greenhouse after it had been put into place. Since I've dug a proper foundation to keep it strong and solid enough to withstand our high autumn and winter winds, a few items had to be removed.
Using this space for something useful for the kitchen instantly sprang to mind. A couple of existing plants were moved and accompanied by a couple of new additions. Currently, the mini kitchen garden within the garden consists of thyme, rosemary, mint, sage, parsley and tarragon. From the tarragon, I believe though, that it is the less tasty Russian tarragon version. We shall see.
The garden mint needed a small damper on its expansion habits, so I've dug it in the ground in its pot. Any aerial roots for further expansion, as you can see in the front on the right hand side, can be removed, as they'll be visible this way.
The two thyme shrubs are arranged close to entrance of the greenhouse, one on either side of it. They are so close to the path, that in sunny weather, you can smell the lovely thyme fragrance when brushing against it while passing by. Lovely!
